about

Music for Drifting, Aase Frejadóttir's debut LP, is mood music for morning solitude, foggy afternoon naps, dusky transitions, and still nights bathed in starlight. Inspired by the music of Eliane Radigue, Pauline Oliveros, Stars of the Lid, and Christina Vantzou, Ms. Frejadóttir created soundscapes while delicately folding in carefully tuned synthesizers, field recordings, lush strings, and voice. The album's six songs guide the listener through three cross-sectioning orbits: spatial bliss, nostalgia, and intimacy. Aided by organic melodies and high fidelity sonic expanse, Music for Drifting opens a door into our vast inner realms, allowing us to drift calmly through thoughts and memories.

Most evenings, you can find Aase reading Olaf Stapledon or walking her dog Pulsar. ... more
